The Upper Room Virtual Bible Study will be held online via Zoom. The link to the meeting can be accessed by going into our online Community and clicking on the “Events Calendar.” This will open the Events Calendar page. Find the Upper Room Virtual Bible Study link on the day you are attending and click that meeting box. A pop-up box will open in the center of your window. Click the blue “Join The Event Now” button in the Virtual Event Details section. This will open Zoom in a new tab in your web browser or, if you have the Zoom app installed on your device, it will open the Zoom app on your device.

We will begin each session with an opening prayer starting at 6:15pm. This initial period is designed to settle our hearts and prepare our minds for the deep theological exploration ahead. As soon as the opening portion is ended, we will transition directly into our structured Bible study and interactive teaching.

Our “Upper Room Virtual Bible Study” has been designed and assigned as a HOLY CONVOCATION! That means this is not the time to chit-chat, shoot-the-breeze, catch up on the latest happenings with others, or carry on any type of meaningless conversations that can take place via other avenues. This study is a sacred, sanctified time for us to meet with the Lord through His Word. We do not have time during this meeting for any type of joking, jesting, or anything that is not of a serious nature. We are gathering to be serious about the Word of God and the importance of our time with the Holy Spirit. Therefore, if you are found to be anything less than serious during this Holy Convocation, we will simply “boot/kick” you out of the meeting and disable your ability to return to the current meeting in progress.

We will engage in the study by moving through the scriptures systematically, allowing for moments of guided discussion. You may share a thought or a Biblical insight as you feel led, provided it pertains strictly to the passage being studied. We must remember the Biblical admonition to “Be ready (instant-KJV) in season and out of season…” – 2 Timothy 4:2. Always have your Bible and your notes ready to engage with the text as the Holy Spirit leads.

If, while someone is speaking and you feel led to ask a question or provide a related comment, simply click the “raise hand” icon/button at the bottom of your screen. This way the Moderators of the meeting will know that since you have “raised your hand,” you are next in line to speak. When there is a transition in the teaching, the moderator will call on the next person in line with their “hand raised.”

Be expected to participate in the reading of the Word aloud multiple times if you choose to do so. If you find yourself highlighting a verse that has already been mentioned or reinforcing a point previously made, know that this is totally fine. We believe that the repetition of Truth strengthens our foundation, and it is perfectly Biblical to emphasize the core tenets of our faith throughout the study.

We will continue this process of studying and discussing until the end of the meeting. We will commence our time of corporate study and proceed to close out the Upper Room Virtual Bible Study with a short time of reflection or a praise report regarding what the Word has revealed to you, followed by a closing prayer to seal the message in our hearts.

If you don’t feel comfortable speaking or reading aloud, then you certainly don’t have to, and no one will try to force you to. If you choose not to speak, you are more than welcome to still join us and agree with the teaching silently. If you would like to participate and share what God is showing you in the Word, you are certainly encouraged to do so.
